"Mahina" is a Hawaiian moon goddess, and this is worthy of the name. I got this based on the reviews of several pro mermaids online, and my cousin's experience. I have several other good fins (most seem to be designed for Tinkerbell, I have size 10.5 very wide feet with arthritis).
While there are plenty of functional, good looking fins out there, this one combines a beautiful mer (maid or man) look with speed and power. I got the large and it JUST fit. (Please make some even bigger sizes). It is molded in one piece, of recycled rubber, (durable!) so the straps are not adjustable. But you can adjust it by using socks (neoprene dive socks or regular ones), or closed cell foam inserts. Always order the size a bit larger than your normal shoe size (and measure your foot carefully, there is great info on how to do that on the Mahina website). With leggings, you can swim laps or explore open water, and kick out of it quickly. It is slightly buoyant, so if kicked off at depth, it hangs there, then sloooooooowly rises to the surface, so you never have to worry about losing it at the bottom of the sea. Look for matching mermaid tail skins here.
For us shorter, rounder mermaids, the size and width of this fin gives great proportions (tiny fins look lost on large mers). Whether any particular monofin fits YOU depends on your foot shape, physical issues (one pro mer I know gets cramps in some fin), and swimming style (do you want to zoom? or float around in meditation?). The Mahina suits a wide variety of mer needs. It also comes in a several beautiful colors.

Swims beautifully, excellent core work-out! I can't express how much I love this product enough. The Mahina is a beautifully designed monofin, and its size allows for some excellent propulsion when the dolphin kick is done right. As my first monofin, it's been easy to use.
The foot pockets are neatly designed, and when fit snug (as my size 6 feet do in this Adult small) barely rub or hurt at all. Transporting the monofin is a little difficult due to it's size, but it straps onto a backpack/one strap sling bag well with support from your back (using the foot holes). I had heard that avoiding bending of the tips can be difficult due to the rubber material it is made from, however they bend back into place with a gentle but firm hand with no issues. I would recommend this fin to any confident swimmer, who is looking for a different kind of work out for their core, or aspiring mermaid as their high-quality fin.

A Mermaid Dream
This is my regularly used monofin and I swim in it weekly, if not more at times, and it is my ride or die of my mermaiding gear. I absolutely love the balance of good propulsion and a bit of flexibility for a more natural flow. I would recommend (and I do as a whole for all monofins) that if you don't want blisters/wear and tear to your feet, wear some diving socks underneath. The pricing is fantastic, the monofin is an absolute dream. 10/10 from you fresh coast fish friend, way to go FINIS!

Living Your Mermaid Dream With Luna Fin!
It's definitely an improvement from the original Luna, its made out of rubber, giving it a tougher and stiffer blades while keeping the aesthetic of the previous Luna monofin.. Great for pool practice, looks good in fabric tail and its super comfy... Gold starfish recommended!
